Government
The City of Pleasantville is managed by a Mayor and five City Council members, elected at-large for overlapping terms of four years.
The Council shall exercise a power only by the passage of a motion, a resolution, an amendment or an ordinance in the following manner:
Planning and Zoning
The Commission shall have and exercise all the powers and duties and privileges in establishing the City zoning regulations and other related matters and may from time to time recommend to the Council amendments, supplements, changes or modifications, all as provided by Chapter 414 of the Code of Iowa.
Board of Adjustment
The Commission shall have and exercise all the powers and duties and privileges in granting adjustments to the City ordinances and other related matters.
Council Meetings
The City Council typically meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
