New to Pleasantville
We are happy to have you here and would like to help make your transition as smooth as possible.
Utility bills are mailed out by the first day of every month and due on the 20th. Bills paid after the 20th will be sent a final notice and will be charged a $5 late fee.
To set up a new utility account, the following items will need to be provided:
- Completed application
- Copy of driver's license or other government-issued ID
- Deposit of $120
conditions for waiver of sewer services
Resolution 23-47 states the following conditions must be met to qualify for a waiver of sewer services.
- Written request to the Water Superintendent turned into City Hall within 7 days of leak and repair.
- Not to be granted for water loss due to theft, vandalism, negligence or unidentified source.
- May only be granted for usage that exceeds past the year's average monthly amount by 200%.
- May only be granted if proof of leak is provided by receipts of a certified plumber or if a Public Works employee has verified the leak did not result in the water reaching the sanitary sewer system.
- Leak must have been completely repaired.
- If the waiver is deemed appropriate, the waiver will be 100% of the difference between the customers' past year's monthly average and the excess usage for the water charges.
- Only 1 waiver will be granted per life of the account holder unless the same leak occurs within a 3 month period and such leak will only qualify for a 50% waiver.
- The deptermination of the Water Superintendent shall be the final decision of the City, without further appeal right to the City Council.
